Then on, the company has grown to 300+ employees in 3 continents, expanding our service offering to clinical operations, clinical data management, medical writing, biostatistics and statistical programming, clinical trial supplies and pharmacovigilance.

Dr. Gautam Daftary Founder and Chairman
A qualified medical doctor, Gautam Daftary is the founder and chairman of SIRO Clinpharm, one of the first Indian clinical research organization.

His knowledge and expertise in the fields of microbiology, oncology, allergies, psychiatrics and infectious diseases has led him to being instrumental in providing the necessary thrust in R&D.

He is also the Vice Chairman at Bharat Serums and Vaccines Ltd., one of the fastest growing Indian bio-pharmaceutical companies.

Dr. Vatsal Shah Chief Operating Officer
Vatsal, a physician by education, leads the Operations teams of SIRO Clinpharm globally. He brings on board over 17 years of varied experience encompassing all phases of clinical research & all document types for medical writing from academia as well as all perspectives of industry (pharma, CRO & BPO).

His major achievements include establishing departments and leading their expansion plans, operational efficiency and sales growth. This includes SIRO Clinpharm's medical affairs and pharmacovigilance department back in 2001, Reliance's medical affairs and pharmacovigilance department in 2008 and Novartis' first-of-its-kind medical writing unit in India, including document management (documentum – CREDI/ webEDI), in 2005. In his most recent stint with Cognizant, he built and led the presales, sales, transition and operations of medical writing (publication & regulatory writing), pharmacovigilance and document publishing. As part of the Centre of Excellence, Vatsal has largely concentrated on guiding his teams to achieve operational excellence by competency development through training & certified courses, Black Belt project on quality, and establishing a culture driven by metrics & automation.

  • Partha Chatterjee Global Head - Clinical Research & Clinical Trial Supplies Management
    With over 17 years of Clinical Research experience in global project management, Partha leads the team of Global clinical operations panning over 10 countries and also provides imperative mentorship to the flourishing vertical of Clinical Trial Supplies Management. His knowledge and expertise have been pivotal in managing numerous key clinical trials across multiple therapeutic areas such as oncology, nephrology, endocrinology, infectious diseases and many more. His profound direction and leadership has facilitated the Clinical Operations team to successfully execute complex clinical trials across different domains like Epidemiology, Medical Devices, Food & Nutritional products and has also allowed for SIRO’s diversification into new arenas like the booming FMCG industry.

    A post-graduate in Microbiology from the Institute of Science, Partha is an influential member of the Indian Society of Clinical Research. He has been actively involved in the drive to transform the Indian Clinical Research scenario and his contributions and suggestions have been crucial in shaping the way forward.
  • Dr. Zubeen Dastur Global Head - Clinical Quality Assurance
    Zubeen provides oversight for risk management across the organization and quality assurance audits to assess compliance to ICH guidelines and applicable regulations.

    She has fifteen years of industry experience. She was appointed at SIRO Clinpharm in 2001 and was initially responsible for setting up the quality system for Clinical Laboratory Operations. Under her supervision the laboratory acted as the central lab for several clinical trials. She transitioned to the role of Clinical Quality Assurance in 2004 and has conducted several audits (e.g. vendor audits, site audits, data management audits) and garnered wide experience in planning, conducting and coordinating GCP audits. A notable achievement has been her pivotal role in setting up GxP compliant quality systems at SIRO Clinical Trial Supplies Facility.

    Zubeen is a doctorate in Life Sciences from Mumbai University. She commenced her career in basic research at a renowned oncology hospital in Mumbai, after which she joined SIRO Clinpharm. She has the distinction of also being a core team member of BARQA Regional Forum, India.
  • Praveen Rao Chief Financial Officer
    Praveen is responsible for leading SIRO group's global finance which includes overseeing acquisitions, corporate strategy, treasury activities, tax planning, accounting and reporting, internal audit and investor relations.

    Prior to joining SIRO group, Praveen has been associated with building world class captive development centre's in India for large multinational companies like Diebold Inc. and Novelis Inc. He has over 16 years of experience in various industries like manufacturing and trading, retail, IT and ITES.

    Praveen holds a bachelor's degree in commerce from Mumbai University and is a qualified Chartered Accountant from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, New Delhi.
